ATTENDANCE
Students are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes before class begins. Any student arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be admitted to class.  For your safety and to receive full benefit from your class, please arrange for a make-up class if you expect to be very late.  

All students are encouraged not to leave the room once class has begun. Please allow for appropriate restroom use prior to class.  Very young children will be treated sensitively as the need arises. Preschool children may need a parent’s attention from time to time for various reasons including bathroom or behavior issues. Please do not leave the waiting room when very young children are in class without informing the office or having another parent responsible during your absence. We make every effort to have all children feel safe and cared for in a loving and inspiring learning environment.
There are no refunds for missed classes. However,Students are welcome to make up any missed classes in an equal or level lower than their current level.  PLEASE CALL IF YOU ARE GOING TO MISS CLASS. Please pick up your child at the end of their class.

ADDITIONAL FEES:


A recital Costume Deposit of $60 will be collected with November's tuition.  This will be a NON REFUNDABLE after DEC 1st as we will be ordering costumes in December.  The balance of the costume will be due January 19th. This balance is typically $3-15 depending on the costume.


A Non refundable Recital Fee of $38 will be collected with February's tuition and will include 1 recital T-Shirt, 1 pair of recital tights and 1 recital program per student.  Any additional tights needed for costumes will need to be purchased.  This is for every dancer participating in the recital. 



DRESS CODE
Ballet (Level 1-4) Black leotard, footed tights, pink ballet shoes.  Intro Ballet - may wear appropriate ballet skirts above the knee. All ballet hair in a bun (Intro-Level 4)
Jazz/Lyrical - Leotard, tights, leggings or shorts over leotard and tan slip on jazz shoes (no laces). Slingbacks are okay for lyrical. Hair up securely off the face. 
Tap - same attire as jazz class with tan tap shoes with low to no heel, slip on tap shoes preferred. Level 3-5 black tap shoes
Hip Hop - fitted tank top, tights if wearing "booty shorts," leggings or sweat pants, sneakers without much traction free of debris. Hair up securely out of face.
Creative Movement & Pre-K 
"Teddy Bear Dancers" pink leotard with pink attached skirt. Pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes will be needed. In classes, they may wear this outfit or a solid color leotard with pink tights, skirts optional, pink leather ballet shoes and tan tap shoes. Tumble-convertible pink tights. Sparkles are great!

Combo Kids - Same as above pre-k, However, Leotard is in IN BLUE instead of pink for Combo Kids! 

BEHAVIOR
Dance class is education and FUN, however, an important part of class work is developing an attitude of discipline and respect for teachers and fellow students. We trust that following our classroom etiquette will provide an environment whereby classes at Dance Academy of Santa Rosa will be a pleasure for all concerned and involved.
All dancers are to practice respect.  Students are not to be socializing in a disruptive manner during the class with other students.  Please honor your teacher and fellow students by giving full attention and co-operation.  You will be advised if we feel any student is not well adjusted to the classroom environment for any reason over time. 

Our viewing windows may be closed by the instructor if the students become distracted from class or by our viewing guests.
Students are to wear appropriate cover ups over dance attire when leaving the DASR lobby.


We reserve the right to dismiss any student who is acting disruptively from the classroom either temporarily or permanently.

*There is to be no chewing gum or eating and only sports bottles with water are allowed in the individual dance rooms (studio floors). 


NEWS & INFORMATION
In an effort to keep you informed, a monthly newsletter will be emailed to your main account and posted at the studio and on the website. Hard copies will also be available in the office as well.

WITHDRAWAL
If for any reason it becomes necessary to withdraw a child from a class, please notify the studio by written letter immediately. Tuition will continue to be charged until a letter of withdrawal has been received.  Tuition will not be reimbursed during the month of withdrawal, However if you've paid in advance, you will be reimbursed for all months following withdrawal.

CLASS PLACEMENT
Student placement in dance classes is first determined by age; however, your child's final placement is based on skill level.  The instructor will be aware to assess each student during the first month of class and if adjustments are needed, we will notify the parent.  The instructor has the final decision on the placement of the dance student.  Please note that it is quite common for students to repeat a  level.

TUITION

Note that all monthly tuition is due by the 1st of the month and considered late after the 7th of the month and a $10.00 late fee will apply. Please consider weekends and holidays when planning your payments as late fees still stand.


A non refundable deposit is due per student at the beginning of our fall season in order to reserve a position in classes. 

Dance Academy of Santa Rosa reserves the right to dismiss any student whose account is not current after 45 days.  

All accounts must be up-to-date in order to receive costumes and to participate in the end-of-the year performances.

You will have the opportunity to pay with any of the following: Cash, Debit or check. If paying with checks, please follow our 3 check policy located in our office. Checks will not be accepted on a monthly 1 time basis.  NEW THIS YEAR:  MAY's Tuition is due no later than April 23rd this season. Please prepare for this ahead of time.
